McDonalds franchise is the largest and most recognized fast food franchise in the world serving nearly 50 million customers on a daily basis.
Founded in San Bernadino long before your quarter pounder was made, California in 1940 by siblings Dick and Mac McDonald, their method of delivering food quickly eventually established the foundation of the fast food industry as we know it. Ray Kroc, who owned the ninth McDonalds franchise restaurant, eventually bought out the brothers, transformed the company and paved the way for global expansion.
In addition to serving such signature items as its overall favorite, the Big Mac burger and fries, McDonald's also offers crispy, golden french fries, the Quarter Pounder, Chicken McNuggets, fish fillet sandwich, the Happy Meal complete with Happy Meals toys for kids, and its flavorful milkshake. In recent years, each McDonald's franchise has branched out by adding salads, healthy snacks and upscale coffee to remain competitive.

Nonetheless, television has always played a central role in the advertising strategy of the company. Ronald McDonald, a fictional clown and company mascot is second only to Santa Claus as the most recognized figure in the world and many times is prominently featured in advertising.
